Course 1: Fundamentals - Modelling for Energy & Daylight Analysis

The goal of this course is an introductory course on Sefaira Architecture which gives an overview of the Performance-Based Design process, core energy modelling and daylight analysis concepts. Basic geometry modelling process in SketchUp will be taught during the course. The course will leave participants with the ability to model their buildings in SketchUp and analyze its passive design strategies in pursue of energy efficiency building design.

Course 2: Design Charrette utilizing Performance Analysis

Participants will run a chosen building design through Sefaira in order to achieve certain target in energy efficiency standard like MS 1525.  Participants will learn to correctly create, setup, analyse and assess an energy model in Sefaira and understand what factors affect building performance - including Daylight, Energy, Natural Ventilation and Thermal Comfort. Participants will also learn how to optimize building massings for improved daylight and reduced loads. Participants will develop an understanding of whole building energy reduction and daylight optimization - lowering building emissions and increasing visual comfort for occupants.  Participants will learn the questions to ask at different design stages and optimize their design process to achieve targeted performance goals.
